ADCIS has developed an app to assess visual acuity in accordance the protocol for an American client specializing in the field of optometry.
This smartphone app has the following features:
- Guides the user during the acuity testing using voice messages
- Displays predefined patterns on the screen for reading from a distance of 3 meters
- Records the person’s voice describing what they see on the screen and verifies that his choice corresponds to what is displayed
- Calculates the reading results on all displayed patterns to deduce visual acuity
- The phone is placed at a distance of 3 meters, validated by the app, and the patterns are automatically displayed at the proper size on the phone for the visual acuity test
- The results are securely transferred and stored in a personalized account on a remote server (in accordance with general data protection regulations)
ADCIS’ Skills Implemented
- Development for both Android and iOS smartphones
- Display management based on screen resolution (actual pattern size adapted to the visual acuity test)
- Voice recognition (cloud based Microsoft Azure service)
- Interfacing with secure remote server and medical data host
- Available in the App Store for the iPhone version
