All through the document, ADCIS and it’s subsidiary company Adcis, Inc. are collectively described as “The Companies”, unless otherwise specified.
Changes in Privacy Policy
All “personal information” (“personal information” is defined as any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains) that is collected in the Site and maintain will be subject to the version of the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of such collection. ADCIS reserves the right to change the Privacy Policy from time to time at its sole discretion, and will provide notice of material changes on the home page of the Site, under the section Online Privacy Policy. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, and will be subject to, such changes by your continued use of the Site after such notice has been posted for at least thirty (30) days with the following exception: If at the time you provide personal information to ADCIS you are given the opportunity (as you currently are) to limit how such information will be used to communicate with you. ADCIS will not change your preference in this regard without your express consent. However, if ADCIS sells assets to another entity, or ADCIS is acquired by or merged with, another entity, ADCIS may provide to such entity customer information that was sold to or merged with the other entity without your consent.
Collection of Personal Information
As a visitor to this Site, you can engage in most of the activities without providing any personal information. In connection with the use of the Aphelion™ Download section, we ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage in such activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however, ADCIS may ask that you provide us personal information, such as your first and last names, mailing address, e-mail address, employer, job title and department, telephone and fax numbers, and other personal information.
When you use the Site, ADCIS may also collect minimal information about your computer to facilitate your use of the Site and its services. For example, we may log the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer. ADCIS will never use or provide any information about your computer and the IP address.
When you submit personal information through this Site, you understand and agree that this information may be transferred across national boundaries and may be stored and processed in any of the countries in which the Companies and their distributors or resellers maintain offices.
How the Personal Information is used
ADCIS collects your information in order to record and support your participation in the activities you select, mainly the Support and Download sections of this Site. If you subscribe to download the Aphelion evaluation version, the information you enter is used to register your rights, if any, to technical support or other benefits that may be made available to registered users. ADCIS may collect information about the use of the Site, such as the types of services used and how many users we receive daily. This information is collected in aggregate form, without identifying any user individually. ADCIS may use this aggregate, non-identifying statistical data for statistical analysis, marketing, or similar promotional purposes.
Choices with Respect to Personal Information
ADCIS recognizes and appreciates the importance of responsible use of information collected on this Site. Without your consent, ADCIS will not communicate any information to you regarding products, services and special offers available from the Companies, although we may find it necessary to communicate with you regarding your use of the services on this Site. Except in the particular circumstances described in this Privacy Policy, the Companies will also not provide your name to other companies or organizations without your consent. There are other instances in which the Companies may divulge your personal information. The Companies may provide your personal information if necessary, in the Companies’ good faith judgment, to comply with laws or regulations of a governmental or regulatory body or in response to a valid subpoena, warrant, or order or to protect the rights of the Companies or others.
Protection of the Personal Information
The personal information that you provide in connection with registering yourself as a user of the Aphelion software product wishing to exchange information through the Aphelion Support section is classified as Registered User Information. This information is protected in several ways. Access by you to your Registered User Information is available through your own password, a unique customer ID (usually your first and last names), and license number given to you at time of purchase by your local reseller. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone, even within your organization. In addition, your Registered User Information resides on a secure server that only selected ADCIS staff has access to via password.
Personal information that you provide does not constitute Registered User Information also resides on a secure server and is accessible only to selected ADCIS personnel via password. Since this information is not accessible by you, you will not be asked to select a password in order to view or modify such information.
Use of Cookies
When you visit this Site, you can browse the Site and access important information without revealing your identity. In order to improve the use of our Site, we use “cookies” to track your visit. A cookie is a small amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a Web server and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. It functions as your identification card, and enables ADCIS to record your passwords and preferences. It cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. Updating your Personal Information
You have the right to access and correct your personal information and privacy preferences at any time. With respect to Registered User Information, this may be accomplished by linking to the Support section, and select the Login section, where you can view your personal information. Contact the Web manager at the email address: webmaster_at_adcis.net if any of your Registered User Information should be modified. Updating the text strings associated to the user information is done by the Web manager. Changes will usually appear within a few working days.
Privacy-related Complaints
The Companies take their users’ privacy concerns seriously. If you believe that the Companies have not complied with this Online Privacy Policy with respect to your personal information, you may write the Companies Web manager at the email address: webmaster_at_adcis.net.
In your message, please describe in as much detail as possible the ways in which you believe that the ADCIS Online Privacy Policy has not been complied with. We will investigate your complaint promptly.
